Turn Intention Into Action

Dear voters, pay attention to who is endorsing whom.

Let me be frank: when I see certain politicians endorsing a candidate, it makes me pause. My experience with some of those politicians is that their decisions have done more harm than good. So when they endorse someone, I don't automatically see that as a reason to support the candidate. I see it as a reason to ask more questions.

So, when a well-known politician endorses a candidate, I have to ask: are we really getting change?

Look at who stands behind them? What do they stand for? What is their record? And are they prepared to challenge the same status quo that has left so many of us frustrated?

I speak from lived experience. I know what it feels like to raise concerns, ask questions and expect better, only to see the problems continue. So I’m asking you to look beyond the endorsements. Look at the record. Look at who has been listening. Look at who is prepared to challenge the status quo.

Think about it, if they didn’t help you when they had the opportunity, ask yourself why their endorsement should matter to you. Why should it automatically convince you that their chosen candidate is the right one.

I’m not saying I believe an endorsement automatically makes a candidate fit or unfit. But I believe it is information voters ought to examine carefully before outsourcing their judgment to that endorsement, weigh whether the endorsement is favourable or unfavourable. Look at the relationship, the record, the policies and the candidate's own words.

Same old, same old is not the standard I’m prepared to accept.

I’m not a career politician. I’m an independent thinker, a writer, researcher and citizen who is willing to ask difficult questions, challenge the status quo and stand up for the rights and interests of the community.

Don't vote based on who tells you who to vote for. Think deeply and do your own research.

Vote for change. Vote to Raise the Standard.
